RBYC
Junior & Youth
Winter Program

Introduction

The RBYC winter program has been developed to allow our young members to train and develop their sailing skills all through the year, tailoring to sailors of all experience levels between the ages of 8 and 18

It consists of 10 Sunday half-day sessions, between May and July, plus two optional weekly programs during the Term 2 school holidays

The morning session, named Fun&Adventure, puts an emphasis on fun, friendships and adventure, while improving our sailing knowledge.

The afteroon session, named Skills&Drills, instead focuses on club members who would like to hone their racing abilities more.

The dates

Train with the best

RBYC: one ocean - one team

The program is run under the guidance of the RBYC Club Head Coach Adrian Finglas.

Adrian's decade-long experience in sail coaching at all levels is a guarantee on the quality of delivery. Under his supervision, our team of amazing Australian Sailing-qualified instructors will provide a first-class experience for all the young sailors involved, both on the water and onshore.

Exclusive venue

Royal Brighton Yacht Club posesses all the facilities that make a great OTB club. Direct access to the beach, ample rigging and boat storage lawn and a well protected area for training.

The winter program leverages all these strong points for the effective development of the OTB and keelboat sailors of tomorrow with a big emphasis on safety.

Fun&Adventure

Socialise while gaining confidence in your sailing skills

The Fun&Adventure session runs on Sunday morning from 9AM to 12PM and is aimed at all our young members who have at least completed a Tackers 2 or Start Sailing 2 course.

It is run with our fleets of club boats, primarily the new RS Quests. The high versatility, robustness and ease of use of this dinghy make it the perfect platform to achieve Fun&Adventure's key objective of improving our sailing knowledge while having fun and making RBYC club life part of the social fabric for our young members.

The cost for the 10-day program is $ 480 / pp, or $ 57 / pp / session, not including RBYC membership

Skills&Drills

Forming the champions of tomorrow

The Skills&Drills session runs on Sunday afternoon from 2PM to 5PM.

Targeted at our more experienced sailors who own their own boat, this session aims at leveraging the great racing experience of our world-class coaches to work on those skills needed to excel in competitions

The cost for the 10-day program is $ 520 / pp, or $ 65 / pp / session, not including RBYC membership
